QUALIFICATIONS
- Michigan Speech and Language Certification.
- Meets Michigan Department of Education Special Education Rules and Regulations related to qualifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the Individual Educational Plans (IEP) related to speech and language services for all assigned students.
- Work with classroom teacher to coordinate students’ schedules for speech an language services.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress in attaining IEP goals and objectives.
- Provide diagnostic and ongoing assessments of students and develop speech and language goals that reflect the individual student needs.
- Utilize research-based, current, best practices in providing speech and language services to students.
- Encourage and monitor inclusive educational opportunities for special education students.
- Encourage parent involvement and education related to the speech and language interventions provided to students.
- Participate in District recommended professional development activities.
- Create and maintain a safe and orderly educational setting for students.
- Keep accurate and organized student records.
- Adhere to established timelines in completing required paperwork and scheduling meetings.
- Interact with students in a positive, appropriate, and supportive manner.
- Work cooperatively with the classroom teacher, paraprofessionals and other ancillary support staff to assist the students to achieve their IEP goals.
- Assume other responsibilities as determine by their supervising administrator.
- Conducts himself/herself n a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
